It’s not quite solo gaming but each week a friend and I meet over Zoom for an RPG session of the One Ring rpg. Since he takes on the role of Lore master, I am sort of soloing through his campaigns. My character, Eyrindor, is ranger currently travelling with another ranger Orothel and to cut a long campaign short we’ve encountered a makeshift fort populated by Orcs. Cobbling together a somewhat ramshackle band of locals we’re currently doing our best to remove it.
Said friend and I have been discussing the use of AI particularly in solo RPG as a journalling / narration tool so we’d thought we’d give it a try as part of today’s session. Since we met on zoom, we recorded our session and then used Ai (macwhipser) to extract the transcript of the sessions. This ran to some 39 pages (a lot of which is us discussing the outcomes of dice roles). Saving the unedited script as a pdf I put it into Chatgpt with the prompt: “Analyse the attached transcript and from it create a narrative of the battle that is taking place within the roleplaying game” What follows below is the outcome of that, the names aside from the characters were created by the AI as was the artwork which was added and created at the suggestion of chatgpt itself.
